I panicked ,"hey , are you injured or ..."

He smiled and looked at his own hand as if remembering something that was hurting him ,"it was like that since birth... Sorry , I was supposed to wear a glove but I stained it just now and took it off to dry it," he looked up ,preparing to get up, "if - if you want to , I would put on my gloves now ,"

I waved my hands , "hey , no . It's alright . You've got to tell me about everything that happened first and I'll decide to call the police or not . For kidnapping me , that is ." I winked .

He chuckled softly and sat down on the floor , folding his legs . He shifted a little , making himself comfortable . He played with his hands a while , looking at them , however his mind on something else . I looked at him , waiting .

"well , it's kind of like that . I was just walking by and heard you crying . And I was scared that he would appear and well , he did . You know," he looked straight into my eyes as if searching for memories ,"that guy who was coming down with the umbrella ,"

"the swish-swish sounds ," I added .

"yeah , that's his umbrella . Then I dragged you here to avoid him and I don't think he would come . And that's that ," he ended with a smile .

" Ah, no . That's not that . "

He threw me a series of confused looks .

" who's he ? What danger ? What fight him ? If you've gonna explain , explain it properly ! " I spat .

The fire crackled in the fireplace .

" he is the Earl .

"the millennium Earl ."
